SSO Family and Friend Concert and Reception

Saturday, May 3, 2025 @ 2:00PM (CDT, UTC-05)Sat, May 3, 2025 @ 2:00PM (CDT, UTC-05)

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5739 Dunham Road, Downers Grove, IL

The Senior Suburban Orchestra (SSO), now in its 25th season, invites you to a Family and Friends Concert.

During this concert, the SSO will perform well-known music from Georges Bizet’s Carmen Suite 1 and Carmen Suite 2. The program also includes music from Fiddler on the Roof as well as Singing Through the War, a sing-along including a collection of songs made popular during World War II, arranged by orchestra member Ron Baumgardner. During each concert of our 25th season, we have featured a different orchestra member as a soloist with the orchestra. Our soloists at this concert will perform “Vivace” from the Two Violin Concerto in D minor, BWV 2043 by Bach.

The Orchestra’s conductor, Dan Pasquale D’Andrea, has been with the orchestra since its beginning in 2000, and has helped develop the orchestra into an award-winning 40+ piece performing organization, which presents up to 15 concerts per year for venues such as retirement homes, schools, and community organizations. Although there is no charge for the concert, donations are appreciated. A reception with light refreshments will follow the concert.
