About the Senior Suburban Orchestra
The Senior Suburban Orchestra (SSO), now in its 26th season, has been led by the orchestra’s conductor, Dan Pasquale D’Andrea, since its beginning in 2000. Maestro D’Andrea has helped develop the orchestra into an award-winning 40+ piece performing organization, which
presents up to 15 concerts per year for venues such as retirement homes, schools and community organizations in the Chicago west suburban area. Our programs are partially supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency (IAC), the National Endowment for the
Arts (NEA), the Grove Foundation, and the DuPage Foundation. We are also thankful for our individual donors.

Senior Suburban Orchestra
Seeks Musicians for 26th Season
The Senior Suburban Orchestra (SSO) is looking for musicians to join its ranks! We currently have openings for all strings, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, French horn, and percussion/drums. Rehearsals are on Tuesday afternoons (1:00 – 3:15) at Woodridge United Methodist Church (2700 75th St, Woodridge, IL 60517) from September through May. We perform for churches, social organizations, schools, and retirement communities and our concerts are typically during the daytime hours on weekdays. Among our present musicians, we have a wide range of experience, with some having had a lifetime of performing opportunities, and some who are presently taking lessons to improve their skills.
The SSO is a volunteer community orchestra, with approximately forty members, established in 2000. There is no fee to join or tickets to sell…the only requirement is that you love music and want to work to create beautiful music. More information about the Senior Suburban Orchestra and links to some of our performances is available on our website at https://seniorsuburbanorchestra.org.
If you or someone you know would like to inquire about joining our orchestra, please contact our Personnel Manager, Lori Davis at (630)935-7103 or lsd542000@yahoo.com.
