Free Family & Friends Concert

The Senior Suburban Orchestra (SSO), now in its 24th season, warmly invites you to a Family and Friends Concert.

 

The concert will feature the music of Gustav Holst including the March from A Moorside SuiteDance of Spirits of Water from The Perfect Fool and Jupiter from The Planets. The program also includes the Forest Gump Suite commemorating the 30th anniversary of the film as well as Greater Loesser, a sing-along including a collection of singer/songwriter Frank Loesser’s songs arranged by orchestra member Ron Baumgardner

 

The Orchestra’s conductor, Dan Pasquale D’Andrea, has been with the orchestra since its beginning in 2000, and has helped develop the orchestra into an award-winning 40+ piece performing organization, which presents up to 15 concerts per year for venues such as retirement homes, schools, and community organizations.

 

Although there is no charge for the concert, donations are appreciated.

Have you been longing to play your instrument in a symphony orchestra? Do we have the place for you!  The Senior Suburban Orchestra has current openings for New Members.  All strings are welcome, esp string bass; also trumpet, clarinet, and percussion: we especially need you. (For wind/brass instruments not listed, please contact Membership to get on the sub list.)

 

Does auditioning make your heart palpitate? Does paying membership fees give you cold feet? Well, these physical maladies will not occur when you join our orchestra.  We have neither (no auditions, no membership dues)! I am looking forward to hearing from you.
